I find myself seeking something fun when we're not hammering out our multiplayer evening entertainment. I do already have a number of single player games that are failing to entertain me. Can anyone suggest something that might intrigue? Adventure is good, as is a nice not too hard fps. Puzzles are fine. I think what I'm looking for is nothing too taxing but still entertaining. I've got a hose of complicated things that I just don't have the headspace for at present. Empty headed entertainment ( a good name for a games publisher)
(I have in fact just bought for the heady price of about £12 the latest version of Doom (which will take me probably 4 days to download) and a quaint thing called Betrayer which is part fps, part horror, rather basic but I liked the demo.
Any other ideas (and thanks Villan for the Lego one though I've never been tempted to them, even though they've had some good reviews over the years)

Ah.
Must clarify. There are 3 things in games I hate.
Stealth
Quick Time Events
&
Button Mashing.
(As I was writing that there were shades of Spanish Inquisition coming into play as it went from 2...to 3....best stop there)

The Return of the Obra Dinn.
You have to investigate what happened to the crew.
There's always the old point & click games - Monkey Island series, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Psychonauts etc. all on Steam or GOG.

I've got the Obra Dinn one on GoG. It's somewhat of the same feel as Betrayer but for some reason it gave me motion sickness so I had to stop (why that gave me motion sickness and BF doesn't I've no idea.
I remember Psychonauts - that was joyous (never finished it), some of the Monkey games (never finished them). Didn't try the others. May have a look.

World of Warcraft? Didn't take you for a goblin smasher Bullitt.
Recently replayed (and finished) Firewatch. Which was exactly the sort of not too taxing thing I want from a story driven walking sim. Very good stuff.

Try "What Never Was" - free on Steam. "What Never Was is a short, story-driven first-person game focused on exploration and puzzle-solving about Sarah, having to shoulder the arduous task of clearing out her grandfathers attic, and soon finds that not everything about the attic is what it seems. " Gets 82% in PC Gamer. Also, Z's Room https://shockpine.itch.io/zs-room83% in PCG.
