Press release: "Carentan is one of the most iconic and beloved maps in Call of Duty history, having appeared in the original Call of Duty, Call of Duty: United Offensive, and Call of Duty 2. Now, a brand-new version is heading to Call of Duty: WWII. Fight through the destroyed buildings and fortified streets of this war-torn French town in an all-out battle for a strategic German stronghold." Hmmm Carentan was iconic in WWII eh?.... so it follows that one of the Maps of CoD WII would be good old Carentan. Except it will be a bonus maps if you buy Season Pass.... |

Well, yes it is. But at 80 fecking quid I should think so too. Not that, if we were to play it a lot, or even for several months, it wouldn't be worth it. Heck it's the price of two games these days. Personally I'm having trouble find one of interest. (That knitting jibe is seeming more and more a good idea). Some nice chap on Amazon asks if the hardcopy box is a dvd of the game or a download code and someone wrote that the box says dvd so it'll come on a dvd. I don't want to get into an argument with anyone but I strongly expect there will be about 10gb on a dvd and about 50gb to then download (nice textures and all that). If the beta was 25gb, you have to assume more maps and better textures and sound will equal a significant hike in hd requirement. Am I right to assume a bunch of folks have either pre purchased it or are going to get it. If that's the case I'll get it on the off chance I get to play sometime. |

I've pre-ordered on Steam. I could be wrong, but I think the beta was only 14Gb (only?). That contained three maps. Map data may not be extensive (I assume), so the final download may not be as big as you expect. But then again... On the knitting front, I recommend embroidery. |

I will almost certainly order it (based on you bugger's enthusiasm, then I can blame you later). However I might wait for the minimum specs. Whilst most of my kit is fine my CPU is starting to show it's age (being a 1st gen i5) and sadly there isn't a cheap / easy route to upgrade it. (it would need a new m/b and because the os doesn't like that kind of an upgrade I'd need to install winwoes 10 which I'm loathe to do). My disgruntlement with the download size is obviously partly because my speed is so slow. But it's also that the games cost the same or more than when you were paying for them on multiple DVDs putting lie to the whole piracy/DRM bollocks they used to throw around. At this rate they should start including a hard drive in the cost of the game so you could just install an SSD with the game preinstalled. |

Hmmm. My i5 is a 760@2.8Ghz which is about level with that i3 I believe. Everything else I'm fine on. Will probably risk it and just swallow the hit. |
